Shimon Peres 1923-2016
September 28, 2016
American Associates, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and Ben-Gurion University of the Negev mourn the passing of the ninth president and former prime minister of the State of Israel, and salute a partner, statesman and leader, who sought peace and made an unparalleled contribution to the building of the country in the spirit of David Ben-Gurion’s legacy.
We grieve the loss of one of Israel’s last pioneers and founding fathers, a passionate friend of BGU and the Negev. He will be deeply missed.
We extend our condolences to his daughter, BGU’s Prof. Tsvia Walden and his sons Yoni and Chemi Peres; to all his family, and to all who mourn his loss. May his memory be a blessing. זיכרונו לברכה
