The Jerusalem Post reports that Oxford University will soon be offering post-graduates scholarships to Ben-Gurion University of Negev graduates.

The scholarship will be called the Rivka Carmi Scholarships in honor of BGU’s accomplished president Prof. Rivka Carmi, M.D. A geneticist and pediatrician by training, Carmi made history in 2000 when appointed the first female dean of a medical school in Israel, also at Ben-Gurion University. She currently serves as chair of Israel’s committee of university presidents.

The scholarships will be offered at Oxford’s Exeter College, and will be open to masters and Ph.D. graduates of any discipline.

“The Rivka Carmi Scholarships will broaden the horizons of BGU students through the one-of-a-kind relationship with this exceptional educational institute,” says Prof. Raymond Dwek of Oxford’s Glycobiology Institute and emeritus fellow of Exeter.
