This past December, Larry Goodman was honored in Beer-Sheva with the city’s 2011 Distinguished Citizen Award for Lifetime Achievement.
Mr. Goodman and his late wife Lillian have been integral in the development of Beer-Sheva through generous contributions from the Lillian and Larry Goodman Family Foundation.
The Goodman family’s philanthropic priorities in Beer-Sheva include educational, cultural and social service projects, all with the goal of advancing the city, the surrounding Negev landscape and Ben-Gurion University.
“We believe in David Ben-Gurion’s vision that the Negev must be developed in order for Israel to achieve its full potential. I have tied my destiny to this city with over 60 visits. I have witnessed its continued growth and am proud to help fulfill Ben-Gurion’s goal. I am deeply touched and honored to accept this award,” said Goodman.
