Prof. Eilon Adar is an internationally renowned expert in arid zones hydrology and Middle East water issues who has devoted more than 30 years to his work at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. From 2002 to 2015, he served as the director of BGU’s Zuckerberg Institute for Water Research. He is also a faculty member in the Department of Geological and Environmental Sciences. Prof. Adar conducts cutting-edge research on groundwater flow systems in complex arid basins. He has represented Israel around the world speaking on water-related issues, published numerous papers, and takes an active role in helping start-up businesses use innovative water technologies developed at BGU. Prof. Adar is now is taking a lead role in sharing Israeli water management expertise with Latin America and African countries and with California’s top water specialists in light of the current drought.
