Meet and mingle with some of BGU’s brightest students from the Avram and Stella Goldstein-Goren Department of Biotechnology Engineering. The students will share their experiences from the International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competition in Boston.  iGEM is a prestigious international competition for students that promotes innovation initiatives in the field of synthetic biology and genetic engineering. The team of students created a revolutionary project, PlastiCure, which demonstrates how bacteria can be engineered to “eat” plastic bottles, transforming the residual material into an energy source that eventually turns into electricity.
