Dr. Maury Harris is a managing director and chief U.S. economist at UBS investment bank. Prior to the UBS acquisition of PaineWebber International in 2000, he served since 1980 as the chief economist for PaineWebber. Between 1973 and 1980, he worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where he was head of the Business Conditions Unit and later chief of the Financial Markets Research Division. Dr. Harris is a past president of the Forecaster’s Club of New York. He is also the author of thebook Inside The Crystal Ball: How To Successfully Make and Use Forecasts. Dr. Harris earned his Ph.D. in economics in 1973 and an MA in economics in 1971 from Columbia University, where he has also taught.
Neal Myerberg is an attorney and well known authority on tax and financial planning strategies using charitable giving techniques. As principal in the firm of Myerberg Philanthropic Advisors, Myerberg provides consulting services for many of the nation’s largest charitable organizations and philanthropists on charitable tax planning. He teaches a graduate level planned giving course at Columbia University and has been a frequent speaker at national planned giving conferences as well as a resource to The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and Dateline NBC. He is also a regular presenter for Consumer Reports magazine at programs throughout the country on tax and financial planning strategies using charitable techniques.
