Prof. Guy Ben-Porat chairs the Department of Politics and Government at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Having received his Ph.D. in political science from Johns Hopkins University, Prof. Ben-Porat’s expertise is in comparative politics and public policy. His most recent book is Policing Citizens: Minority Policy in Israel; he is also the author of several other books, including Between State and Synagogue: The Secularization of Contemporary Israel, which won the Yonatan Shapiro Award for Best Book in Israel Studies from the Association for Israel Studies and the Gideon Doron Best Book Award from the Israeli Political Science Association.
