Dr. Paula Kabalo and Prof. Isaac (Sakis) Meir are the core faculty for the Zin Fellows Leadership Program.

Dr. Paula Kabalo is the director of the Ben-Gurion Research Institute for the Study of Israel and Zionism and the Israel Studies International Program.

Her expertise focuses on the history of the nonprofit sector and civil society in Israel; civic associations; the history of youth in Israel; the history of the Jewish community in pre-State Palestine; social Israeli history; and the life, challenges and achievements of David Ben-Gurion.

Prof. Isaac (Sakis) Meir, of BGU’s Jacob Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research, has served as chair of BGU’s Center for Desert Architecture and Urban Planning and the Department of Man in the Desert.

His expertise includes sustainable, environment-conscious architectural design in arid zones; indoor environment quality in office buildings; the microclimate of open spaces; evolution of building technology and types; and urbanization among the Bedouin. He is also Israel’s lead consultant on green public buildings.
