Sun Sentinel — AABGU held its Midwinter National Board Meeting at the Marriot Delray Beach Hotel on February 26, 2013.
The event was hosted by AABGU’s Greater Florida Region and included AABGUniversity, an exciting opportunity for the local community in South Florida to hear lectures by three visiting BGU faculty members.
Dr. Ilana Nisky of BGU’s Department of Biomedical Engineering spoke about the future of robot-assisted surgery and stroke rehabilitation.
Prof. Yaniv Poria of the Department of Hotel and Tourism Management at BGU shared insights into his research about whether the label “world heritage site” attracts tourists to Israel.
Prof. Mordechai Zalkin of BGU’s Jewish History Department discussed the cultural, educational, and social transformation of Eastern European Jewry during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
“We had more than 150 local people who got to hear about the cutting edge and diverse research topics being explored at BGU,” says Elise Dolgow, AABGU Greater Florida regional director.
