The Jerusalem Post — BGU recently placed 24th out of 360 universities in a University of Indonesia ranking of the greenest campuses on the planet.

BGU jumped to 24th place this year from 36th place in 2012, the last time the ranking took place.

The ranking system, launched in 2010, aims to gauge sustainability practices on university campuses around the world, according to the University of Indonesia.

Universities participate on a voluntary basis, submitting numeric data based on a number of criteria such as university size, campus location, green space amount, energy and water use, transportation, recycling and waste treatment.
